The Mask, Chemical – Biological, Tank, M25A1 is a respirator that was designed to be used by armoured crews. This example was made in 1982 by Mine Safety Appliances (MSA). The mask is connected to an M10A1 filter canister by a two foot corrugated hose which was manufactured by Herbert Cooper Co in Pennsylvania. The filter canister has an M1 coupling over the intake valve for attaching to an armoured vehicle’s gas and particulate filtering system. The filter can be carried using the Sling, Carrying Canister, M9 attached to it. The mask contains an M-116/G microphone which can be connected to external communication systems using the two pin socket connector. The mask was issued with a fabric bag as well as an M1 Antifogging kit. The M25A1 was available in three sizes small, medium and large.
