Both ends of a smoke tube are broken off using the break off husk. The smoke tube is inserted into the rubber bellows & air is pumped through the tube. A chemical reaction causes smoke to blow out the other end. The smoke would be used to find an air flow including, but not limited to that caused by a leak.
