The Israeli Z 56 was a licenced copy of the German Z 56. It was produced by Shalon Chemical Industries Ltd in Israel. Shalon Chemical Industries Ltd was established in 1968. This example of an Israeli Z 56 was produced in 1968 and was provided with an Auergesellschaft (Auer) made ZF 55 filter. The example pictured is a size 2 (medium).

This IDF issued M15A1 gas mask was manufactured by Shalon Chamical Industries in 1975. This early example does not have a prescription lens mount inside the mask, while later M15A1 masks did. The M15A1 was available in three sizes small, medium and large. This example is a size 2 (medium). The M15A1 is pictured with an IDF NBC kit (incomplete), the last image is of another incomplete IDF NBC kit.

 Home Front Command began distributing gas masks to the civilians of Israel on the eve of the first gulf war in 1990. Distribution began again in 2010 and stopped in January/February 2014.

Both are pictured with a sealed drinking tube and a 1mg ATROMAT atropine auto injector. The mask in the second image is new and sealed and is shown with its instruction manual.
